Scissor lifts have many different uses, it’s difficult to describe them all but they can be categorised into the following:
- Vehicle loading and unloading
- Split level, where goods need to be transported between two different levels
- Work positioning – putting the work-piece in a position that makes it easier to work on or move from.
- Special applications – for example lifting and tipping units, engine stuff up machines for automotive assembly as well as numerous positions in conveyor lines.
The important thing to remember when specifying a scissor lift is that the higher it travels the longer the platform needs to be. We can overcome this geometrical drawback by making a double or triple vertical but it’s best to discuss the application with an experienced sales engineer who will guide you to the best mechanism to use. Once the basics have been sorted out there are any number of options to customise your scissor lift table into the machine you need. (see bibliography).
Stertil Stokvis have more than 30 years experience in scissor lift tables providing many high street retailers, food producers as well as industrial household names with solutions to handling, lifting and goods movement problems. For example, food producers are required more and more to produce stronger hygiene regimes, where once galvanised steel was the order of the day stainless steel is now required. We produce a range of stainless steel scissor lift tables for cleanliness as well as high performance hose down regimes.
