| CADBURY CHOOSES STERTIL STOKVIS |
|
Loading bay equipment specialist Stertil Stokvis has completed an installation for Cadbury Trebor Bassett to fit loading bays into its distribution centre in Milton Keynes. The 350,000 ft2 operation is part of a 'distribution capability improvement' project for the confectionery giant, whose plants are in production 24 hours a day.
Stertil Stokvis was chosen to kit out the 25 loading bays because of its reputation for high quality and reliability. Alongside the dock doors, shelters and bumpers for each loading bay, eight Rapid-Roll internal doors and eight Blazeguard Fireshutters have also been installed. The Stertil Stokvis range of Rapid-Roll high-speed doors is comprehensive, with door models and control systems to suit varying needs and budgets. Some of these doors are particularly suited for use in the food industry because of their stainless steel construction. With both internal and external models available, Rapid-Roll doors maximise energy cost savings by their fast opening (up to 3.2 metres a second) and automatic closing.
Blazeguard Fireshutters provide up to four hours' protection from fire and can be closed manually or automatically. Automatic closure options include smoke and heat detectors, as well as auto reset, and all door components are manufactured in adherence with strict regulations.
Cadbury's distribution centre in Milton Keynes receives deliveries and despatches fully-laden vehicles each day to deliver into customers' stores and warehouses. These vehicles include conventional insulated and refrigerated 40ft box trailers. Cadbury worked with Exel Logistics to get the centre up and running and both companies were keen for Stertil Stokvis to provide the loading bay equipment.
